CONDUCTIVE BOXES NOW IN CLEAR PLASTIC FROM TBA ECP - 01/01/2003

Static control specialist, TBA Electro Conductive Products (ECP) has announced the availability of its wide range of static conductive boxes in clear, translucent plastic enabling users to see that a closed box has components within.

Moulded from TBA's new ECP 2000 colourable static dissipative polymers, the clear translucent boxes provide excellent physical protection as well as complying with the electrical conductivity requirements described in section 5 BS EN 100015 PT 1: 1991 making them suitable for intimate and close proximity packaging applications. The clear plastic material is also cleanroom compatible offering such desirable characteristics as low off-gassing, low particulate contamination and excellent washability.

Offering surface resistivity of <1010 ohms/square, ten different sized boxes are available ranging from 38 x 38 x 12mm through 155 x 100 x 30mm up to 304 x 228 x 38mm. These can be supplied with or without standard conductive foam inserts which are available in two types: high density suitable for the retention of electrostatic discharge sensitive devices (ESDS) and low density offering additional physical cushioning.

The company can also provide a mixture of clear translucent plastic parts with traditional black parts (eg clear lid and black base) if required.

Besides the foam inserts mentioned, TBA ECP can also provide customisation of its standard boxes. Options include printing of logos and other customer information on boxes (eg identification numbers), custom cut foam inserts and vacuum formed inserts.
