TBA ECP LAUNCHES NEW WATER-BASED STATIC DISSIPATIVE PAINT FOR PROTECTING SOLVENT-SUSCEPTIBLE MATERIALS - 15/06/2007

Static control specialist, TBA Electro Conductive Products (ECP) has launched a new water-based static dissipative paint that is ideal for protecting materials that are susceptible to damage by solvents such as expanded polystyrene, high impact polystyrene sheets (HIPS) and polycarbonate.

ECP 529 is a single pack water-based acrylic static dissipative paint that will adhere to a variety of substrates and is suitable for use in electronics assembly applications and Atex type hazardous environments.

Specifications include static decay of <2s, dry film thickness (DFT) of 30 m and surface resistivity of 108 /sq. Paint colour is light grey.

TBA's ECP 529 extends the company's comprehensive range of electrically conductive coatings for static protection and EMI shielding applications. The ECP 500 series features four coatings for EMI shielding applications, two paints for floor coverings and 11 static dissipative coatings. Compatible with most plastics and metal substrates, the paints meet the requirements of BS IEC 61340-5-1:2001 (Basic Specification: Protection of electrostatic sensitive devices) and are suitable for use in Atex hazardous environments.
