NEW VARIABLE SNAP-ON GASKETS FROM TBA ECP IMPROVE SHIELDING EFFECTIVENESS - 03/03/2003

EMI shielding specialist, TBA Electro Conductive Products (ECP) has introduced a new range of snap-on beryllium copper gaskets that provide superior shielding effectiveness by having fewer snap-on tabs. These require fewer slots in the mounting surface leading to improved attenuation up to 100dB.

The new fingerstrips are offered in three standard profiles ECP612VFXx at 8.13mm wide x 2.79mm high with 4.75mm pitch, ECP613VFXx (9.4 x 3.3mm with 6.35mm pitch) and ECP614VFXx (15.24 x 5.59mm with 7.16mm pitch). Each type is available with five different variable finger (slot) patterns. These encompass mounting tabs on every other finger, every third finger, every fourth finger, every fifth finger or every sixth finger. The three standard profiles are also available in standard 0.09mm thick material or low compression 0.05mm thick "LC" styles.

Ideal for bidirectional applications, the new variable snap-on gaskets can be used with gaps as small as 0.5mm and offer simple and secure installation. Available in lengths up to 457mm, the gaskets can be supplied to any full (tabbed) or semi-finger (untabbed) increment.

In stock for immediate delivery and offering high durability, the new ECP612/3/4VFXx variable snap-on gaskets can be supplied in a wide range of finishes encompassing clean and bright finish as standard and plating in gold, silver, tin lead, bright tin, bright nickel, zinc/clear chromate and electroless nickel.

TBA ECP's new variable snap-on gaskets extend the company's comprehensive range of beryllium copper fingerstock that is ideal for many EMI/RFI shielding applications. Delivering attenuation in excess of 100dB for most styles, gaskets are available in various mounting options such as clip-on, stick-on, snap-on and special mounting styles.
